Zovu’s Number system

Counting System

Zovu’s expression of numbers is a 6-base counting system with the following numerals and their phonetics –

[r] = Zero / None

[oð] = One

[eɣ] = Two

[az] = Three

[iʒ] = Four

[uv] = Five

To express larger numbers, the smaller digits are simply attached to the higher digits as suffixes. This starts at 7 given the 6-base counting system –

[oðər] = Seven

[oðoð] = Eight

[oðeɣ] = Nine

[oðaz] = Ten

[iʒaz] = Twenty Seven

[eɣiʒiʒ] = One Hundred

Part of Speech

Numbers can be expressed in different parts of speech by changing the consonants just as the elemental morphemes. The exception is “one” which uses the nature root consonants –

[oð] = One

[om] = Sole / Single

[oθ] = To Unite / Make One

[oh] = Solely / Once

[eɣ] = Two

[eg] = Of two / Double

[ex] = To Split / Make Two

[ek] = Twice

Symbols

Numbers 1-6 (and 0) each have unique symbol –

1

2

3

4

5

0

To express larger numbers, these 6 symbols are written highest-digit-to-smallest-digit –

27

100

The part of speech of the number is deciphered and pronounced by context.
